Bowen has had its own council since 1999. It still pays the Trust. Local power brings real choices and real costs.

Bowen’s own town tax, per person

These are town taxes, separate from its Trust bill.

2005839.7 dollars
20232,359.7 dollars

Town tax per person rose from $840 to $2,360. These figures use each year’s prices. They do not take out price rises or changes in town services.

Bowen Island is a municipality, so it has no island trust area row in the Province's census cut. Its economics are its own audited accounts — see BOWEN_FISCAL — which is the whole reason it can be measured at all.

We want local choices to be clear. This record does not promise lower taxes if another island becomes a town.
